Women with Style: Priya Kishore

Priya Kishore, winner of The British Council's Young Entrepreneur Awards 2009 and the Creative half in the power couple behind the uber cool Mumbai store Bombay Electric, is one hip sassy lady indeed.

This petite powerhouse always manages to look impishly style foward, without going over the top crazy resulting in looking effortlessly stunning.

Bombay Electric is situated in the midst of five-star hotels, quaint cafes and pubs, it is a fashionable symbol of the modern fusing with tradition. It is nestled in a heritage building that founders Priya, along with husband and partner Deepak Rajegowda, transformed into a tavern of intoxicating aesthetics.

The New York Times called her store ‘the Barneys of Mumbai’ and Suzy Menkes of The International Herald Tribune called it ‘the incarnation of the new Indian cool’ in 2007 and then, in 2008 a potential ‘template for the next millennium of India style’.

Priya is extremely fashion forward. She foresaw the need for a design-centric platform to represent established and emerging designers in India and Bombay Electric became the first to offer it in 2006.

Priya graduated with a degree in politics, philosophy and economics from Oxford University and Mastered in Anthropology & International Relations at the University of Chicago.

Most of all, not just being a stunning, clever, fashion forward lady, I am proud to call her my friend... Love you girl.. you inspire me xxx
