Why’s everyone in a tizz? Because she voluntarily painted her face black … her mother is Creole and her father is African American, and the editorial pays tribute to the legendary Fela Kuti.

Regardless of others opinions, of which they are entitled, I quite liked the editorial. It had lots of fun and colour to it and I see it as something positive, celebrating women of colour although I don’t define them as ‘women of colour’ they are the still a human being and we are all equal.

Wearing a variety of African-inspired dresses and jewellery by Gucci, Azzedine Alaia, Fendi, Pucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Rodarte, Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier, and Lanvin. Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles, also created a one-of-a-kind couture piece for the shoot.
