R.I.P. Tony Curtis

He was born to poor Hungarian immigrants and went on to become one of the most famous faces in Hollywood history. He stared in over 140 films and was lover to almost as many women, Tony Curtis, has passed away at 85.



With his infectious sense of humour and his talents as a great actor, everybody that worked with him sung nothing but praise and admiration for him. Some of his more famous works incude the cult 1970s show The Persuaders, The Defiant Ones, The Sweet Smell of Success and the legendary Some Like It Hot alongside Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe.




He was infamous for a crazy private life that included heavy drink and drugs problem. He was married six times and is known to have once said "I wouldn't be seen dead with a woman old enough to be my wife." His wife Jill, 45 years his junior, was with him when he passed away.



He was a loving father to his children and loved by many in return. Jamie Lee Curtis, his daughter with Janet Leigh, has said "He leaves a legacy of great perfomances in movies and in his paintings and assemlages".
